The references section of a CV can be an important part of your job application. It provides potential employers with contact information for individuals who can vouch for your skills, experience, and character.
Note however that it is common to skip this section completely nowadays. The hiring manager will ask you for your references if needed. Just make sure to be prepared with a list of references to provide on request and also make sure to inform your references so that they are prepared.
The most common references section just consists of one line: "References available on request." That's it.
If you want to write out your list of references explicitly, then you should go for the following format:
name, job title, company, email, phone
brief explanation of your relationship with the reference
Be sure to choose your references carefully: Select 2-3 individuals who have worked with you closely and can speak to your professional abilities. Ideally, they should be former supervisors or colleagues who are familiar with your work.
Also, ask for permission: Before listing someone as a reference, it's important to ask for their permission. This will ensure that they are prepared to speak on your behalf if contacted by a potential employer.
