Example: Liam's janitor CV
Liam's example resume has many strong points, but lets try to improve it for him!
Janitor CV — summary section
The summary section of Liam's resume is really good. Note how he manages to convey the message of him being an employee that you can really depend on, with his experience and feeling of responsibility.
See also how he highlights his friendly personality. This type of information might well be the reason for the hiring manager to select Liam for the open position. Read more about the summary section here.
Janitor CV — experience section
Liam has many years of relevant work experience and the recruiter is sure to notice that Liam stays for several years in a position before switching, which is good.
Note however that the descriptions of the experiences are a bit to long (see above). This resume would benefit from slightly less dense text segments. As an example he could re-write the descriptions as follows:
I conduct routine cleaning and maintenance in a large 100,000 sq. ft. commercial facility, covering restrooms, break rooms, lobbies, and hallways. I operate cleaning equipment, follow safety protocols, and handle general maintenance tasks like light bulb replacements, air filter changes, and wall painting. I promptly address requests and complaints from building occupants and management.
I ensured cleanliness and safety in multiple classrooms, restrooms, and common areas in a K-12 school. Duties included floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing), trash and recycling management, equipment inspection and maintenance, and participation in after-hours deep cleaning projects and special events.
I cleaned and sanitized classrooms and restrooms, performed minor repairs and maintenance, assisted with event set-up and clean-up, and operated cleaning equipment.

Janitor CV — education section
Note that Liam does not have an education section at all! This does not need to be an issue, but if he has a high-school degree he should definitely add it. Read more about the education section here.
Furthermore, if Liam has any certificates or simliar, eg certificates related to safety procedures, then he could add those in the education section. Hiring managers love certificates!
Janitor CV — skills section
Liam has many good skills in his list, but there are some obvious improvement that we can do! I would like Liam to remove the unnecessary skills in the left column (Cleaning and sanitation, Floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing), Trash removal and disposal).
Instead he could tell the recruiter about his great communication skills, his good physical fitness, and experience with HVAC repairs. In particular, since he has stated in his summary that he is "Highly valued by colleagues, visitors, and pupils for my friendly demeanor" he should stress his communication skills in the skills section.
